Fun at the Park

We met up with my sister in law Steph and enjoyed some time at the park. James tried very hard to keep up with his cousin Cole.

Good news

We had a great day at the clinic today. James was a crab but I think it was due to the fact he was tired. His counts came back great and we got his antibiotic and came home. The doctor called me and also let me know that his liver enzymes had gone down and were more in the normal range. Thank you to all of you who prayed for this. It is an answered prayer! We head back to the clinic in two weeks and then we leave the next day to go to TN. I am super excited about going home but I do have a little anxiety as well. We were slated to go to TN last July and the day before we were to leave James was diagnosed. Obviously that won't happen this time but this upcoming trip brings back all the memories from July. Be praying for us-we are flying because James will be on steroids and I want all of us to have an awesome trip. Thanks for your prayers.

This was so cute that I had to share. We head to the clinic tomorrow. Please pray for his blood counts and his liver function test.

Baseball Fun

We had a great weekend and James was feeling good so we decided to go see our nephew Casey play baseball. James had a blast. He probably would have had more fun if his mom would have left him alone. I was crazy about him having sunscreen on. Greg said after the 3rd application, "I think he will be fine. He has plenty on!" Adrianne had fun too. She just sat in her stoller taking it all in! Enjoy the pictures!

New Waters

Today was a non clinic day. James is almost himself after being done with the steroids on Sunday. We are entering a new phase in toddlerhood. Up until now James never tried to climb on the furniture so I always felt pretty safe leaving him in another room. I went to check on him in his playroom and this is what I found...

Adrianne is doing great-getting bigger everyday. She is feeling much better and more herself after starting an antibiotic for her ear infections.

We thank you for your continued prayer and support and ask that you still pray for us. Greg and I have really experienced stress this week with different things. It brings us to the harsh realization of all that we've been through the last 7 months. Things are going in a great direction but there are still hard times. They really seem magnified during and after steroids. Thank you for letting us be able to be real about the struggles we face and we know we are not alone. We love you and cherish your prayers and support.

Almost Finished

We are nearing the end of the 5 days of steroids and Greg and I couldn't be happier. james has had some times of being content but mostly is whiney and unsettled. To add to our great weekend, Adrianne began to run a fever of 102 last night. Our good friend, who is a pediatrician, came over and it turns out she has a mild double ear infection and the poor girl is getting another tooth. Please pray that Adrianne recovers quickly, she hasn't eaten much over the last 12 hours. Please pray that James is protected from any germs that could cause him to get sick and pray the steroids get out of his system quickly. Thank you.

We had a great visit today. His counts looked great and the doctors were pleased. We go back in a couple of weeks but today was the day we started steroids. Please pray for James' liver. His enzymes are starting to rise again. We are going to continue treatment but they are watching him closely. I know I shouldn't worry but I am. Please pray for protection of his organs while we pump poison into him--just another reminder that he has leukemia. Please pray for us for the next 5 days as we endure the steroid raged 20 month old. Thank you!

Just chillin'

James is hanging out in the hammock at Uncle Don and Aunt Julie's house(still has the stethoscope!)

The family got together to celebrate Granny and Grandad's 49th
wedding anniversary so it's a great opportunity to get the cousins
together and have their picture made!

In Adrianne news, she is sitting up on her own and she is cutting her first tooth! Where does the time go?
We head to the clinic on Wednesday for blood counts, doctor visit, and vincristine(chemo). James will begin his 5 day pulse of steroids. Please pray for us because this is always a trying time and James usually doesn't feel very well.

I want to be like Daddy

I thought this was the cutest picture. When Greg came home from work, James picks up his lunch box and water bottle and heads for the door like he is leaving. He wants to be like his daddy....so sweet!

Aunt Rebekah and Maddie
My heart wishes we could be there but I am glad I get to share these pictures of my new niece. Our family will get to meet her in person in March providing nothing goes wrong with James. Please pray we are sickness free so that we can go to TN to see my family in March.

Welcome Madison Louise

For those of you that didn't know my youngest sister Mary Beth was pregnant with her second child. Well I am happy to announce Madison(Maddie) Louise Nickerson was born today at 10:50am weighing 8 pounds 11.75 ounces and 19.5 inches long. Mom and baby are great and we are thrilled for the new addition. I will hopefully post pictures tonight or tomorrow.

One...Two...Three...

are James' new favorite words. It usually invloves having a ball or two in his hands and trying to get Emma(our dog) to chase them. Unfortunately Emma doesn't cooperate. James is doing great-growing more everyday and more importantly feeling better everyday. We don't go to the clinic this week so we will enjoy the week off and get ready for next week when he starts steroids on Wednesday.

The Cowboy Doctor

I am happy to report that James had a great weekend. I wanted to take a picture of him because for the last several days his has worn this stethoscope around the house. It's funny the toys that he gravitates to!

Thanks so much for your prayers. Have a great Monday.
