Adrianne turned one!!!!!

I don't have any pictures to post because I am writing from a computer station at Sam Houston. That's right-it's official I am back in school. This morning I got here I was completely turned around looking for a parking place, on the phone with Greg crying and wondering what in the world I was doing. I finally found my class to find out it had been cancelled because the professor is sick. Oh well I am able to do some reading and most importantly blog!

Yesterday was a big day. Adrianne Grace turned one. It seems like eons ago since she was born and at the same time hard to believe its already here. Nana has been here since Friday and my sisters and their kids will be coming in at the end of the week to celebrate. I promise to post pictures soon!

Pray for us because we head to the clinic tomorrow morning. James will receive chemo through his port, an antibiotic, and steroids. He had a hard time last month so pray that his body tolerates things well. James is excited about starting school. He begins the Monday after Labor Day so please be in pray for that too. Thank you so much for continuing to keep up with us. Things are busy in our house--finally NORMAL!!!!

1st Dentist Appointment

Of course, he was a champ. The dentist told us he wasn't going to fix the chip tooth. Dr Wheeler said if he were to fix it James could chip it again. So he brushed his teeth and put fluoride on them and sent us on our way. For being such a good sport, James got a bear, a sticker, and a goodie bag. A cool thing happened while we were in the waiting room. We met a lady and her 15 year old son. She told us that her son had ALL when he was 2. We ask him if he remembered anything and he vaguely remembers the lumbar punctures. It was nice seeing a kid all grown up with cancer as a distant memory. We will get there someday!

A Great Week

This week James has been an angel however this week wasn't without incidence. Wednesday afternoon he was jumping on the couch and the next thing I knew he was on the floor. After examining him I realized he had chipped his tooth. Long story short we went to MDA on Friday to do blood work and he will see the dentist on Tuesday. Because of his leukemia he will be on antibiotic before and after the dentist visit. I have a picture so that you can see the chipped tooth.
Trying to get a picture when everybody is looking is almost impossible. Hope you have a great week!

1st haircut

As much as we hated to do it ...it was time. His hair had gotten quite unruly. He did ok. There were moments he wasn't too happy. The only half way decent picture I got of the finished product was the one with the sucker in his mouth:) Have a great weekend.

It's been too long

Once again I apologize for not posting sooner. Last week was one crazy week. James went to the clinic on Wednesday and then a very bad reaction to the chemo on Thursday. So bad that he wouldn't walk around. I called the clinic and they took note of everything. It is possible that they will have to adjust his chemo next time. Please pray that he won't have the same side effects again next month because it is never good to cut the chemo. By Friday he was a little better and he seemed to be a little more comfortable walking around. Saturday and Sunday were manageable and we were glad to give him his last does of steroids on Sunday night. This week has shaped up to be a much better week. He rebounded pretty quickly from the steroids and has been more like himself.

As always we felt your prayers during the last week even if you didn't know specifically what to pray for. I promised to post some pictures from our time in TN so here they are.....
