A couple of good weeks

Ok instead of getting better at posting I have gotten worse.I guess that is the summer for you. James has had a couple of really good weeks. We are set to go to the clinic this for an LP with chemo, IV chemo, antibiotics, an oral chemo, and the beginning of steroids. We are also set to go out of town on Thursday to a friend's bay house in Rockport TX. Please pray that James has minimal side effects for all he is having done on Wednesday and pray for safe travels as we leave town and also that there would be no sickness while we are gone.

The Ryan family is enjoying the summer and looking forward to doing some fun things. It is hard to believe that last summer was so devastating. I wanted to say thanks again for the support, encouragement, meals, prayers , and gifts that you have given to our family. Thank you for being faithful to check on us. We truly appreciate each and every one of you.

I will update you after Wednesday visit.

Last Week's recap

Well it has officially been a full week since I blogged. So sorry for those of you that come everyday to check. I will try to be better:) James finished steroids last Sunday so the first couple of days of the week were a little hard. Tuesday I got the blowup pool out and they seemed to have a good time although...

this is how it ended....

On Wednesday he started feeling better and more like himself and back to doing the things he loves! I caught him one day sitting by himself reading-it was so sweet and I thought "yeah he's back to himself"

Greg and I got a babysitter and went to one of Greg's co workers daughter's wedding. We had a lot of fun and it was nice to get out.

Sunday was a great Father's Day. Here are some pics before we went to church.

On Sunday afternoon we met the rest f the family to eat and go watch James' cousin Casey play ball. After we ate we had a little time before the game so James and Adrianne got to hang out with their cousins Wesley and Tanner.

(James, Tanner, and Adrianne)

James had a great time at the baseball game.

The kids and I are looking forward to this summer having Greg home alot more. We have some things planned and I will do better at keeping you updated. We are not due back at the clinic until July 2nd. Please pray for us as we approach the one year anniversary of his diagnosis(July 12th). There are a wealth of emotions that go with that day!

Fun weekend despite the steroids

James finished his last does of steroids tonight until next month. This time didn't seem quite as bad as last month. He went to his class today and they said he did great. He got a new tee, bat, and ball for his birthday and has had so much fun playing ball. We also went to Holly and David's house for a get-together and James and Adrianne had a great time swimming. Here are a few pics to highlight our weekend....

Thank you for praying!

A Marathon Day

Today was one of the longest days we have had at the clinic. We left at 6:30 this morning for 7:45 labs. They took us back pretty quick and we were in a room by 9:00. Today James had to receive vincristine, an antibiotic, and immunoglobulins. So from 9:00 to 3:30 he was hooked up to an IV and had to stay in this little room. Aside from a few small meltdowns he did remarkably well. He never ceases to amaze me.

Last month when we went to the clinic they had increased his methotrexate. Today his ANC is 7400 so we got another increase. Please pray that James' body will respond well to the increase. On top of the increases he also began steroids today. We return to the clinic in a month where he will receive chemo and have a lumbar puncture.

James was very excited to get home ans see his sissy!
