Change of plans

Okay, no sooner than I posted the last entry, I heard from Greg. The resident on call would like them to pack a bag and come on down to MDA tonight. They need to rule out the possibility that his platelets or hemoglobin are getting dangerously low. If they find that they are low, they may keep them overnight to go ahead and transfuse. They will still have to get up and go to the clinic appointment in the morning, but if they stay overnight it will be an elevator ride away. So lift them up each and every time God puts them on your heart. Thanks again.

Joy, Greg and Paula....I just spent the afternoon with Ms.Hettie and got your blogspot link...What a precious boy you have and how he looks like his momma when I first started babysitting for her! I have spent many years now with adult leukemia patients. They do get ALL but the treatment varies for children and adults. So even all the lingo is familiar to me. But I know how overwhelming it is for you all. Great news with the second bone marrow! I hope some wonderful nurses have connected their hearts to yours. I know there will be some special people there from God who will become very dear and helpful to you. It is a privelge to be able to pray and keep up with your progress. I know God will give you grace and strength one day at a time...when you will be too tired to pray there will be others praying on your behalf...sending my love , and oh yea...congratulations on your beautiful daughter who will be arriving soon....love, cindy

By god's grace and love you will get through this.

Greg, Joy, and James,
I want you to know that I am praying for you and you are never far from my mind. I've been in touch with Greg's mom or dad nearly everyday since I first heard and my heart is with you. I will especially pray for you, Joy and the new baby as you walk through this difficult time.

Love,

Greg and Joy,

Jana and are very concerned about this last blog post and we will be praying that James' platelet count will return/remain at healthy levels to prevent unexpected treatments. Also we will be praying that the Lord will allow you to return home as soon as possible. I am so thankful that the Lord has provided you with such a strong and supportive community.

Dear Joy and Greg,

We found this cute little poem that we thought might give you some comfort. It is entitled "My Guardian Angel."

Dear Angel ever at my side,
How lovely you must be
To leave your home in Heaven,
To guard a child like me.

When I'm far away from home,
Or maybe hard at play
I know you will protect me,
From harm along the way.

Your beautiful and shining face,
I see not, though you're near.
The sweetness of your lovely voice,
I cannot really hear.

When I pray, you're praying too,
Your prayer is just for me.
But when I sleep you never do,
You're watching over me.

We pray for you very deeply and give you our love for strength and courage in the coming days.

Joy and Greg,

Someone spoke a word of encouragement at church on Sunday. I would like to pass it on and maybe it will bring you encouragement.

He was talking about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the fiery furnace, and how there was a fourth person in the furnace. He said no matter what our "FIRE" is we are going through, God has promised to be with us. He has also promised to bring us out of the fire without a hair on our head cinged from the flames.

This word really spoke to me. We all have our own fires to deal with, but God is always there by our side or carrying us through!

I love you both, and especially little Jamers and Little Adrianne.

Still praying!

Joy, Greg, and Baby James:

We are friends of Chris and Steph from Baseball. We met you at the fields a few times. James and the two of you are in our hearts and our prayers daily. Our Marriage Builders group at the United Woodlands Methodist Church is also praying for him and your family. We would like to help you guys in any way that we can on a regular basis for as long as it takes. I I e-mailed your "Help Coordinator" to let her know. My brother had cancer as a child and we know that it is a long process with progress made one step at a time. The doctors and medical researchers have made so many great and wonderful advancements in treatment over the last five years. James is at the #1 treatment center and that is such a blessing. We will continue to pray daily for your family.

You are loved and prayed for...
Romans 8:26-28
26And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don't even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. 27And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God's own will. 28And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.
